CMurder - Standby

Tue May 21, 2013 11:08 am

1. Which team are you applying to? Community Rep.

2. Please describe your Shadowbane game play history. How long did you play Shadowbane? Which servers did you play on?
I have been playing Shadowbane since 2001 2nd closed beta phase. I have played SB from 2001 until close, and have also played both EMU
servers. My servers were: Fear, Treachery, Death, Mourning, Dread, Vindication, Wrath, Braillia, Malog, and Test.

3. Which areas of Shadowbane are you most experienced in? Is there a mechanic of the game that you are more knowledgeable in than others? Please explain your most valuable asset you believe you have as a Shadowbane player.
I know the ins and outs of Shadowbane as well or better than 99% of the playerbase. I have beta tested the original game, and both
expansions. I have ran cities, nations, and multiple realms. I have extensive experiance with all mapsets and character creation.

4. You are going to either test/design a zone. Which aspects would you include in your report and how would you report the information?
I would ensure all microzones had correct mobs with correct spawn times and appropriate loot tables. I would use a spread sheet and
document all successful additions as well as document problems I may have experience for further testing and repair.

5. Do you have any skills in IT or programming, and how much experience do you have?
I have very limited Java and PHP programming skills via web design.

6. What sets you apart from another applicant?
I have been with this game since its inception. I have gathered much knowledge over the years that I feel would be beneficial to the
project. I have moderated for multiple other sites including: UBISoft, MMORPG.Com, NCSoft Lineage 2 boards. Although I have fun on the
boards, when I have responsibilities, I do not engage in frivilous banter, trolling, or heated political conversations. As a 35 yr old husband
and father of two, I know how to be responsible and dedicated, and how to mediate situations, as well as work well with others.

7. How much time will you be able to dedicate to the project?
I could manage at least 2 hours a Day on Mondays and Wednesdays, 4 - 6 hours + on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 4-6 hours on Fridays,
Saturdays, and Sundays.

+1, he has a pulse.

-1 from me, not looking to start a flame war but I don't think it's a good fit.

+1 I've heard CMurder in vent, he's pretty funny.... He seems to be less of an [fluffy bunnies] than most of the people I see/hear around here.

+1 him as well, we could probably use a couple more active blue names and i think he would do a good job at it.

"Heyzeuss"I love playing under CN tags, no drama or at least none that I can understand. Makes playing the game much more enjoyable.

Hello CMurder!

Thanks for applying.

CRs have some overlapping responsibilities with moderators. Please fill this out:

Please describe how you would handle the following scenarios if you were a moderator:
  • a. A forum poster makes a thread in General Discussion to poke fun at a guild that recently lost a bane on Closed Beta.
  • b. A player who was recently banned makes a post in the Closed Beta Arena saying he or she thinks the ban was not warranted.
  • c. A closed beta participant makes a post in General Discussion expressing that he doesn't feel the project is moving as quick as it could, going as far as to say that people are "wasting their time" posting on the boards.
  • d. A new user posts pornography as their first post.
  • e. One of your guild mates has a signature that is larger than is allowed by the code of conduct.

a. A forum poster makes a thread in General Discussion to poke fun at a guild that recently lost a bane on Closed Beta. I would move the thread to the CB cantina. Then message the OP that posts of that nature need to be kept to the CB boards, in the proper area.

b. A player who was recently banned makes a post in the Closed Beta Arena saying he or she thinks the ban was not warranted. I would delete the thread (or move to trash, however these boards operate, or whatever protocol is in place) warn the OP, and advise them to use the Admin Report thread for all issues with Administrative decisions and grievances.

c. A closed beta participant makes a post in General Discussion expressing that he doesn't feel the project is moving as quick as it could, going as far as to say that people are "wasting their time" posting on the boards. I would lock the thread, move it to the Admin Report section, and warn the OP that this type of post does not belong in the general Discussion area.

d. A new user posts pornography as their first post. I would immediately remove the thread, then I would issue a short ban for grossly breaking the FCOC and message the OP with the information on the ban and a link to the FCOC along with a quote from the FCOC that expresses no pornography is to be posted.

e. One of your guild mates has a signature that is larger than is allowed by the code of conduct. I would remove the signature, then ask them nicely in a PM to please re-size their signiture to the appropriate size.

I have answered these question to the best of my ability drawing from past experiances I have had on other boards. Of course all of these actions are subject to change once I know the rules for moderation on these specific boards. Thanks for the consideration and the possibility that I may be of assistance to the project.

Thank you for your response. At this time, the team is a good size, but I will keep you in mind next time we have a spot.
