I know people want the BIG NUMBERS but when I see 0% resists on dudes, I don't care how many HP you have. That dude would get tooled.

Switch your trains in the Health Drain and the Health Drain DoT.
What would your ATR be without precise and with those 8pts in str/int?

That is a bit of a blanket statement, Brickk. There are plenty of solo builds that perform better with dmg/healing throughput as their focus. Not saying this is one of them, but I don't play my wizards or MAs with any resists but shielding, and that's not through ignorance but time tested experience. If your fessor had 6k hps or could be stun immune, you would probably rock int/focus or 24 int stuff too.

And you should think about where this templar is used... I think It's mainly for small scale pvp and most ppl will attack other targets first, when they see HG templar, because that means a lot of hp and wings which means even more hp... Anyway I agree that it should have resist (thats how I would build it), but for some purposes it's not really necessary.

What about sword mastery and great sword mastery, is any point to raise them to 70% for getting powers? Or not worth it?

None past the last powers. Mastery on temp swords is thaum, which is why they get sneaky access to both lines in the first place.

I meant that - last powers at 70%. But for this build it`s 30 extra trains for SM and 20 trains for GSM. Does the all sm \ gsm powers worth 50 trains?

Sorry, read that as past 70%

Depends on the build. What are you sacrificing to get there? Passive ignore is good, snare is good. Probably both more than a little more listed dmg/atr. Something to mess around with at the refiner until you find what works for you.

I would sacrifice parry, as I do for my STR build, but there are already no points in. May be health DoT? :o

As for resists...yes, I change out my int/con rings when I use him for mines and gvg (which is rare, i use him more for small scale Skah!). As for training sword to 70%, I'd rather have GM wings and GM health DoT than another sword power or two. Any other comments on this build? I've used it for many years and had tons of luck on it. But some good comments to tweak him would be appreicated.

Precise is a bad starting rune, you have a blind and +atr from two weapons.

I agree that +5% atr for any attribute points is a bad but not toon breaking decision.

As far as the resists conversation - resists are a waste unless you have a really good idea about what and who you are fighting. Open world random pvp and skirmishing usually yields a large variety of what will be attacking a ground based (mostly) melee/proccer like this dude... it could be anything. As an example, a natural flying caster can count on seeing pierce, magic, cold, poison and some fire/lightning damage types and can stack resists accordingly... meaning substantial damage mitigation to everything you will likely encounter. Ground based is relatively close but you'l be getting hit with melee as well, meaning having all magical resists is pointless and a waste while extra CON serves as a natural "resist" to everything.

I'm not advocating huge con builds by any means but resists on jewelry should ALWAYS be circumstantial on a ground pounder. Having random resists, spiking 1 or 2 and hoping you run into that damage type is silly compared to 36-72 extra con (at least on a toon that has good returns).
